The method uses a mercury cathode, followed by solvent extraction to separate interfering elements, with alizarin red S to produce a chromogen which is measured at a wavelength of 490 nm.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> This Standard sets out a spectrophotometric method for the determination of aluminium in steel.
