This International Standard applies to masks<\/small> and their accessories<\/small> used to connect sleep apnoea breathing therapy equipment<\/small> to the patient<\/small>. It specifies requirements for masks<\/small> and accessories<\/small>, including any connecting element, that are required to connect the patient-connection port<\/small> of sleep apnoea breathing therapy equipment<\/small> to a patient<\/small> for the application of sleep apnoea breathing therapy (e.g. nasal masks<\/small>, exhaust ports<\/small> and headgear<\/small>).<\/p>\n

Sleep apnoea breathing therapy equipment<\/small> is covered by ISO 80601\u20112\u201170. Figure A.1 shows the typical elements of this International Standard together with the sleep apnoea breathing therapy equipment<\/small> of ISO 80601\u20112\u201170 that form a sleep apnoea breathing system.<\/p>\n

This International Standard does not cover oral appliances<\/small>.<\/p>\n
