This Standard specifies the performance requirements for chemical protective clothing providing protection to the full body against airborne solid particulates (type 5 clothing as specified in JIS T 8115).

It is not applicable to the chemical protective clothing providing protection against solid dust, e.g. penetration of solid dust through the clothing by rubbing or flexing.

The chemical protective clothing as specified in this Standard is full-body protective clothing such as one-piece coveralls or suits, with or without hood or visors, with or without foot protection.

Requirements for component parts (e.g. hoods, gloves, footwear, visors or respiratory protective equipment), which are not integrated with the chemical protective clothing, might be specified in JIS T 8151 or other standards.
